The L.A. Café and Coffee House (“the Café”) is a community coffee house in Lehigh Acres, FL (thus the “L.A.” – even people who live there don’t get that at first), serving superior specialty coffee drinks and other extraordinary food and beverage products to residents and visitors of Lehigh Acres in a community atmosphere that is positive, friendly, and socially responsible. The Cafe opened in January 2008 in a strip plaza anchored by a Publix Supermarket on the main street of this 60,000 resident town. They proudly serve Café Campesino Fair Trade coffee and espresso beverages, along with teas, smoothies, breakfast foods, panini, and desserts.

Because their space is long and narrow, they have built and decorated with a street vendor theme; the coffee bar is a shop along the faux-painted street that leads to a cozy living area in the back. On Friday nights, that space is transformed into a music venue for open mike night, and one night each month they host an open mike for local writers. They also display artwork for sale by local artists; during the school year, they feature high school students’ work.

In its everyday business practices, the Café adheres to and promotes the support of environmental and social justice issues around the world. An important aspect of their mission is to provide relevant information to help consumers become better informed, active citizens. The Café itself also follows green and sustainable business practices and to purchases from like-minded suppliers. The Café is committed to the concept of fair trade in its purchase of coffee, tea, chocolate and future products as they become available and feasible.

Cafe Campesino is excited to be part of the L.A. Cafe’s vision!
